As well as being a new year and fresh start for everybody, 2014 will be a special date for all of us in MHMTC as it represents our 60th anniversary. That's a pretty impressive achievement when you think about it - the company have put on at least one show in every one of those years, all here in Mill Hill, and until a couple of years ago, all in our traditional home, Hartley Hall on Flower Lane. We'll be marking the anniversary as the year goes on, and our biggest hope is that we'll be able to move back into the new Hartley Hall at some point (although progress on site seems to be determined to keep us on tenterhooks!).
You may have noticed that another way we're marking our history is to slowly update this website with details of our old shows. I hope that by the end of the year I'll have uploaded details of each and every show we've ever done, with cast lists and pictures. It's been fascinating going through the society's archives - one of the things that has really struck me has been just how many people were in the cast of shows in those early days, as you can see in the photo below from our first every production, The Gondoliers. It would be great to try and recreate some of those glory days, so why not make one of your new year's resolutions to try something new, and come along and sing with us? We're always pleased to have new members - find out more here!
Until then, here's to 2014, and a diamond year for MHMTC!
