Showing appreciation for our Patrons with Music Of The Knight
“Way, way back many centuries ago, not long after the bible began…” we started to rehearse for Music Of The Knight! Little did we know that a global pandemic would bring the world to a halt in March 2020. We've all been personally touched by grief and sadness over the last couple of years, but we were determined to come back together two years later in March 2022 to celebrate this Patrons' Party.
It was a chance for MHMTC to thank our Patrons for all their support, and we appreciate this more than ever now as we strive to keep bringing community theatre to Mill Hill. When compiling the song list, it was important for us to include a mix of numbers that gave us joy and hope and also provided an opportunity for all our cast members to perform personal song choices for their families and friends.
The pandemic continues to affect people’s lives, and many of our cast (including our very enthusiastic new members) had to learn songs and dances at short notice. They all did so with endearing humour and kindness. We had amazing support throughout, and special praise must go to two very talented people – Georgia Dove, for her wonderful choreography, and Ricardo Fernandes, for his superb musical direction. It hasn’t all been plain sailing, but we always knew there would be a “light at the end of the tunnel”!
There is perhaps no greater way to celebrate musical theatre than through the works of the giant of musicals, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and the maestro continues to wow us with his dramatic productions. And it was such a lovely experience to direct our amazing cast – truly “a remarkable family in anyone’s book!”

PS: please find some lovely pictures of the Patrons' Party below, taken by Simon Shapiro (many thanks!)
PPS: also a big thanks to Jason Brameld and Phil McCusker from the Pump House, who came to our assistance at the 11th hour with lighting after our lighting director fell ill. And Simon Shapiro helped us on this front too! You guys are amazing!
PPS: thanks to everyone who helped backstage and front of house too - we couldn't do it without you!
