9 To 5 - what a way to make audiences happy!
It is a great testament to the talent and hard work of the company that it can go from traditional musicals such as Guys & Dolls and Kiss Me, Kate to 9 To 5 with such ease. With Dolly Parton's amazingly uplifting score and entertaining script to get our teeth into, 9 To 5 rehearsals were chaotic, action-packed, and yes, at times a little bit stressful, but most of all, they were a huge amount of fun. It's clear from the rehearsal and show-night photos that you have hopefully seen on our Facebook or Instagram posts (and if you don't follow us on social media, why not?!!) that the whole production was full of laughter... in fact one of the hardest things was to rein it in!
Every performance was packed with appreciative audiences, and the standing ovations were emotional. The whole cast and crew put in a lot of sweat, and also some blood and tears, into putting on a slick show, and we hope we did Dolly Parton proud.
I want to thank our director, Nikki Hurley, and our musical director, Ricardo Fernandes, for their commitment, enthusiasm and support in staging this show. As always, I'm incredibly proud to be chair of this amazing company - still going strong as we enter our 70th anniversary year. We are indebted to our Patrons and audiences for their your support and look forward to celebrating 70 wonderful years of MHMTC in 2024. The group is particularly looking forward to the challenge of putting on three shows next year - including the critically acclaimed Calendar Girls: The Musical in the autumn.

PS: A big thanks to Elena Veris Reynolds for stepping in at the last moment to be our Stage Manager. She was awesome, organising smooth scene changes and keeping us in order backstage.
PPS A big thanks to James Cooper who helped with lights, and to Daniel Shah and Kat Priest for their help during the performances!
PPPS: Thanks also to everyone who helped backstage and front of house - we couldn't do it without you!
