SUNFLOWER DEDICATIONAs part of our staging of amazing show Calendar Girls: The Musical, MHMTC is raising funds for wonderful local charity North London Hospice by offering people the chance to dedicate a Sunflower for £5 in memory of a loved one who has passed away from cancer, in support of them if they’re currently undergoing treatment, or to celebrate with those who are now post-cancer. Each Sunflower will be displayed on our flower wall during the production, and will include your choice of name on the flower. The full £5 per Sunflower will be going to North London Hospice, which has helped so many people locally.
As you may be aware, Calendar Girls was first a hit British 2003 film comedy-drama then a 2008 play, and in 2014, it premiered in Leeds as a musical. Calendar Girls: The Musical is a very funny show with a fabulous score by Gary Barlow. Most people know that it tells the story of middle-aged members of the WI in Yorkshire who pose for a cheeky nude calendar for charity – less is known about the moving story behind it. The women are actually doing it to raise money for the local hospital where one of their member’s husband was treated for cancer. And our flower wall will be honouring this aspect of this amazing show.
