Our Platinum Years - 70 years of musicals packed into one show!
We had a wonderful trip down memory lane – looking back to where it all first started, with Gilbert & Sullivan’s classic The Gondoliers in 1954, when we started out as Mill Hill Amateur Operatic Society, and ending up with a little reminisce of last year’s main show, 9 To 5: The Musical.
As always, I would like to thank Ricardo Fernandes for his help in putting together the song list and drumming those harmonies into us once again. Thanks also to Georgia Dove and Nikki Haughey for their help with choreography, and the many people involved behind the scenes, including the brilliant and supportive Gillian Asquith from Hartley Hall, and Fr Eugene Curran from Sacred Heart during rehearsals and also show week.
A final thank you goes to our Patrons, for their constant support, and also their amazing feedback afterwards, the selection having brought back memories of MHAOS and MHMTC shows from the past. Now onwards for the rest of our anniversary year celebrations – in June, with Ruddigore, when we will be delighted to welcome back some of our former members on stage, and in the autumn for the critically acclaimed and wonderfully uplifting Calendar Girls: The Musical.
